The Detours in Life

     The Detours in Life
           by Samantha Eyth

There are moments in life where we come to a road that is closed; a detour that takes us to an unfamiliar road, to an unfamiliar place.  It is at these moments where we learn the most
even though we don't want to,
even though we don't know where we are going,
or where to turn next.

             Sometimes we get lost.

But being lost isn't exactly a bad thing.
It means learning, growth, and leaning on our All Mighty God.

It means sometimes we have to start from scratch.  Starting from scratch is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you have the right ingredients!
But what are those ingredients?  What are the things that God wants us to learn when we come to a closed road, a detour, and that lost feeling?

I know, through scripture, that God wants us to rely on Him, to cast our cares on Him, to lean not on our own understanding.
           Basically...
             ~Rely
                    ~Trust
                  ~and LET GO!

So much has been written lately about "letting go."  This is easier said than done, but very important.  As Christians, this means giving to God your worries, anxieties, and fears

Letting go can mean "forgiveness" or "getting rid" of the bitterness and hate towards others who have done us wrong.  Again, this is easier said than done, but important.
Letting go can also mean, letting go of
           ~bad habits
               ~bad influences
                    ~bad situations

      When you reach a
road that is closed,
or a door that's been slammed in your face,
or an unsuspected and unwanted detour,
the only thing to do is LET GO and LET GOD handle it!
You didn't loose your focus, this picture is fuzzy.  :)

Don't struggle to force your way down a closed road.  Detours are there for a reason and we need to use our ingredients "God's gifts," to follow a new path,
                 to learn
                        to grow.
Look what's open...
Sam's is OPEN!
wink, wink

You are never really lost.
       You are always somewhere.

You are in your Father's hands.
